Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and sinister influences growing in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to undertake their own adventure, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might look out of place, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team knows exactly where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could assist the team enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The healer defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them few options but to travel to the northern region in search of the traitor.
